Forget About Having It All
Since we were teenagers, women have been offered the promise that we could have it all: career, love, success, money and so much more. The caveat is that having it all comes from a lot of doing, and without a guarantee of contentment or fulfillment. It’s not surprising that many women arrive at midlife exhausted, unhappy and wondering what went wrong.
In Forget About Having It All, I explore the myth of having it all and the social expectations that hold women to an impossible standard. This book highlights the norms and beliefs that frame our daily lives, often without much conscious thought from us. But with a shift in how we perceive the world, I show how women can unplug from the programming that tells us what we should want, so we can focus on creating what we do want in our lives.
Through a combination of my PhD research and observation from my own journey of midlife self-discovery, I offer practical advice and exercises for women who are ready to embrace their innate wisdom and create their own path.
